Background
Montgomery Preservation, Inc., Montgomery County's only countywide, private, nonprofit historic preservation organization, was originally comprised of a small group of local residents who formed the Montgomery County Committee of the Maryland Historical Trust in the early 1970s to further preservation efforts in the county. The group incorporated in 1984 to expand its preservation role throughout the community, and today works with organizations, public officials, and businesses to ensure that historic preservation plays a role in the revitalization and development challenges of the 21st century.
