The rear was reorganized and unified by a shed roof to form an integrated and cohesive design. The interior spaces were reworked to provide better flow, light, and function.

This year's Lifetime Achievement Award was presented posthumously to Mary Ann Kephart. She was a member of the Montgomery County Committee for the Maryland Historical Trust and worked for County preservation legislation. The Committee merged with Montgomery Preservation Inc. in 1985. She was a founder of
