The King Barn Dairy Mooseum and the Germantown Historical Society are sponsoring a basic training class on conducting oral histories. This will take place at the Germantown Historical Society, 19330 Mateny Hill Rd., Germantown, MD. The training will be conducted by Susan Cooke Soderberg who has had training and experience in this field. There is no cost, but donations will be accepted on site by both sponsors.

Oral histories can be a valuable tool for historical and genealogical research, but only if they are conducted properly and recorded in a way that they can be transcribed and accessed. A release must be signed by the person interviewed as well as the interviewer.
