April 6 @ 10:00 am 2:00 pm

Step on Board! Explore Silver Spring’s Historic Railroad Station!

Free for All Ages: Family Friendly, Bring Your Inner Child!

Special Exhibit: Rockville’s Road to Brown

Learn about Montgomery County’s unique connection to Brown vs Board of Education. The road to equality in education was neither smooth nor straight. Who was William B. Gibbs, Jr. and how did his challenge to Montgomery County’s School Board for gross inequities in staff pay and student spending bring young NAACP lawyer Thurgood Marshall to Rockville? Learn how events here started the journey to the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court landmark case Brown vs Board and its historic impact on education in America. This exhibit is courtesy of Peerless Rockville.
