MPI Congratulates Rebeccah Ballo

The Montgomery County Commission for Women recognized Rebeccah Ballo as a 2025 “Woman Making History” for her commitment to ensuring that Montgomery Planning’s documented histories are inclusive and comprehensive.

In 2018, Rebeccah was appointed supervisor of the Historic Preservation Office, a section of Montgomery Planning that is the face of official historic preservation in our local government. The professional staff works with property owners, conducts research, reviews applications for Historic Area Work Permits, supports the Planning Board, and maintains the Burial Sites Inventory. The Historic Preservation Office utilizes GIS mapping tools to provide information, oversees the Historic Preservation Tax Credit program, publishes articles and The Preservationist newsletter, helps with historic markers and cemetery issues, and more.
