Nov. B&O Station Open House Featuring the Silver Spring Historical Society Offered a Look Back in Time

Special Guest: Jerry A. McCoy, President of the Silver Spring Historical Society and author of Historic Silver Spring and Downtown Silver Spring

Jerry offered visitors the opportunity to view bound volumes of the rare 1931 Klinge and 1961 Sanborn fire insurance plat maps that include downtown Silver Spring and the nearby surrounding Maryland neighborhoods. He looked up their address so people could take a photo of the page and amaze their family and friends.

Many people were curious about what the built environment looked like 64 or 94 years ago around their Silver Spring-area home, street or neighborhood and visited the B&O Station to take advantage of this opportunity.
