Join Peerless Rockville and the Glenview Mansion Speaker Series in-person at Glenview Mansion for this presentation on the Marquis de Lafayette and his visit to America in 1824 and 25. Our speaker, Dr. Patricia Maclay, is a lifetime member of the American Friends of Lafayette and serves on its Governing Board.
Peerless Rockville will host a presentation by historian and MPI Board Member Susan Soderberg. She will discuss what led ten men to sign the Hungerford Resolves of June 11, 1774, launching what is now Montgomery County into an armed revolt against their colonizer and protector Great Britain, risking their property and their lives in a conflict many saw as fool-hearty and doomed.
Peerless Rockville, a MPI Member Organization, celebrates their 50th year milestone with a gala at one of Rockville’s most beautiful historic buildings, Glenview Mansion. Reconnect with friends, neighbors, and fellow history lovers to look back at half a century of successes and challenges, and look to the future together.
